My Stupid Mouth.

"I'm never speaking up again.
It only hurts me.
I'd rather be a mystery
than she desert me."

-John Mayer.

Happy Easter to those of you who celebrate the resurrection of Jesus or enjoy the egg hunting festivities of the day. Either way, holidays are definitely some of the greatest days for the record books.

In lieu of being with my family to celebrate together, I got to spend it with my newfound family: Emilie, Stefani and Kelly. In order to keep festive, I sported a black short sleeve babydoll dress with yellow florals all over along with my black lace-up gladiator sandals. Hey, although black is still in the equation, I tried to be as spring as I could by adding a floral mix to all this. We then headed to church in which the worship was refreshingly amazing for our souls and the message resonated just the same. Despite the rain, we drove through the backroads of Nashville and ended up filling our tummies with the delicious food of Loveless Cafe.

Loveless Cafe, for those of you who have never heard of the place, is the absolute best at homemade southern cooking. With country music playing on the speakers and fresh biscuits flowing out of the oven to be devoured by hungry customers, the place feels like home somehow. It made me want to go to the lake and walk down dirt paths all afternoon. Best feeling ever.

Although break is coming quickly to a close, I feel beyond rejuvenated for the next three weeks ahead. I do have a lot on my plate in the very near future, but this break was the kickoff to the downhill portion of the school year. I'm starting to see the light of summer at the end of the tunnel, and let me tell you, it's brighter than ever.

Side notes:

Sending all my best thoughts over to Kevin Ware and the Louisville team. That injury was one of the worst I have ever seen and I can not imagine seeing someone I care about going through that. The players on Louisville are truly brothers and that love shined through with the victory today. Good game, boys.

With Easter being today, it means Lent is over. And yes, I have already watched one episode of Gossip Girl. With tears of joy in my eyes. And applause for every line Chuck Bass said. And pure eagerness of the drama unfolding. It's so good to be back. Xoxo...

Madness.

"Come to me.
Just in a dream.
Come on and rescue me."

-Muse.

Due to being on Easter break, I have lost track of all time. I literally did not know it was Saturday until about noon today. I'm so gone off my schedule. With that being said, I did not follow up on my Friday Five that I started last week. I apologize for this now, and I will always try to remember to keep this tradition flowing on its typical Friday post. So in lieu of discussing the new clothes I got yesterday or my first experience at a Cracker Barrel, it's time for Friday Five...on Saturday. Whoops.

Even though spring is (supposedly) in the air, I'm a sucker for anything leather. Keri Russell looks absolutely gorgeous in this long-sleeve black leather number accompanied by pointy black pumps.

Classy and cute with a pop of color can do no wrong in my book. Jamie Chung keeps up with the black-and-white trend with this Alice+Olivia mini and a touch of bright royal blue in her Monika Chiang pumps.

Even though you can't tell it's Vanessa Hudgens from the side, I have always adored her bohemian style. This black printed pantsuit is so hippie chic with the matching black summer hat. Professional yet easy.

These electric blue trousers are so glamorous, I can't even stand it. This outfit (from Pinterest) is ready for a Hamptons summer party with a flowy white tank and tan heeled sandals to boot.

Like I said last week, I just started watching Mad Men. After the first season, I'm hooked. This picture (from Pinterest) is such a vintage summer inspiration to me. Old-fashioned women in printed hot pants and scandalous tops screams how cool these girls look. I wish I could dress like these chicks in this shot. Love it.

Something I Need.

"And I had the week that came from hell.
And yes I know that you can tell.
But you're like the net under the ledge.
But I go flying off the edge.
You go flying off as well."

-OneRepublic.

Nothing beats having a car and being able to explore. Thrift Store Friday was the adventure of the day. I scored a BCBG top for $2 and got some amazing Ralph Lauren sweatpants for the same price. WHATWHAT.

Also, another highlight is the fact that I bought my tickets for John Mayer and Phillip Phillips this morning. I am so ready for fair this summer, it's not even funny. Too stoked on life for what shall be a concert to go down in the record books.

To top off this wonderful Good Friday, my friends and I stopped off at Sonic before dying Easter eggs in order to keep the festivities alive. Sure, we only had 12 compared to my normal 120. But it was so worth it and nothing beats a Friday night spent with the girls. Too much fun despite the ugly sky and rainy weather.

The proof is in the microwaved hardboiled eggs and cheap Kroger dye.

Lost In You.

"I can feel heartache
coming my way.
Feels so right, the way you are,
come here and kiss me."

-Olivia Broadfield.

I love driving around the city with the music blaring and the window rolled down. It's such a sweet feeling, especially with spring and summer on their way. Sunshine always add a touch of wonder to the day that I absolutely adore.

The girls and I spent the day hopping around Nashville to explore all of the shops we could. Shopping is great therapy and after being trapped on campus for what seems like ages, it was the perfect first day for break. Plus, the weather was beyond gorgeous as of late. Can't complain about sun and mid 50-degree temps.

Also, we went to Chipotle and Pinkberry. Score one for the amazing food department. Always a good time when Mexican food and fro-yo is involved.

Although I didn't get a lot today, it inspired me for the month to come to dress as fashionable as possible. It may be hard to accomplish if the weather doesn't accommodate for a perfect outfit, but I shall try to accomplish this goal one day at a time, rain or shine. In order to get a kickstart, I bought an Easter dress. Best part? It was in the little girls section of Target and fit like a glove. (I mean, even though it is an XL, it was still on the tad big side.)

It's yellow. It's lace. It's A-line. It's less than $20. And I will be wearing it once a week come summer. I'm obsessed. Sometimes, Target is an absolute savior. Especially when you have a $50 gift card to spend on whatever you please. Thanks, Grandma.

I hope the change in the weather is gearing you up to look cute or fancy on a daily basis. I'm excited to get back to the days where cutoffs are a must and less layers is more fashion.

Part Of Your World.

"And I'm ready to know
what the people know.
Ask them my questions
and get some answers."

-The Little Mermaid.

Let the Easter Break commence. Could not be happier to have a four day weekend and with that weekend, finally get to one of my favorite months of the year. APRIL.

I'm all about blogging and writing and sharing pictures. I'm kind of an addict to social media sites. It may sound extreme but I'm not one of those kind of people. I do have a social life outside of my computer, but I use social media for my news. Tumblr is one of those many sites I rely on to keep informed. Now, Tumblr is one of the few sites that I can't keep myself away from anymore. At first, I believed it to be overrated after one of my friends (who is Internet-insane, I might add) said it was the end-all. I got one just for kicks and well...here we are months later and I think I've made 5,000 posts. Crazy, yeah, but completely intriguing nonetheless.

Tumblr leads me to hilarious GIFs and videos, along with rad fashion and vintage photographs. Today's laugh is provided by a reblog of Tumblr in which dads prove to be awesome. I couldn't help but smile and sing along as these grown men were singing the songs of 4-year-old little girls obsessed with Disney and princesses. This restores my faith in humanity and family when I see men like this being so dedicated to the hardest job on the planet.

I salute you, dads. You win on this occasion.

Stay.

"Funny you're the broken one,
but I'm the only one who needed saving.
Cause when you never see the light,
it's hard to know which one of us is caving."

-Rihanna.

I am eating WAY too much candy. But I don't care. It makes me happy. Especially Robin Eggs. The absolute best Easter food besides Peeps.

Anyways, back to the main point of this...

I'm a girl who is all about lyrics in songs. Music can make me excited about some tunes, but the majority of the time, I get hit by how well the lyrics are written. They mean so much to me because each line is the unfolding of a story being told by the artist themselves in a way where they can fully express what would happen. It's such a beautiful and enigmatic experience hearing a new song with wonderful lyrics for the first time. I can't even describe how this eerie sense of calm comes over me like a wave when I hear something so good. It just...rocks me, I guess.

When Rihanna came out with "Stay", it took me back for a second. It was refreshingly haunting yet left me with chills of wanting more. The story in the song just moves you along the piano's keys. Now when the music video came out, good Lord was it simply perfect. For anyone who doesn't believe in Rihanna's beauty, come on. It's beyond easy to see how truly gorgeous she is in that video. Man, if only I could look like her...

For those of you behind on your pop trivia, well, please take a watch of this stunner. You'll quite possibly fall in love with this song.

Fire And Rain.

"I've seen sunny days
that I thought would never end.
I've seen lonely times
when I could not find a friend."

-James Taylor.

Thanks to Harry Styles posting this song on Twitter and reminding me of how simply awesome it is. Love a little bit of '70s music.

So, we all know March is on its way out. You know what else should follow in its footsteps? THE FREEZING COLD WEATHER. I know I wanted seasons when I moved to college, but now I see why they are so beyond overrated. Sure, they may look pretty in perspective, but when you can't leave, it sucks big time. Just thought I would throw that out there because it's snowing today and I can't stand it anymore. I thought spring was around the corner and that meant temperatures in the 60s. Guess not!

Upside of the day: pretty sure I have enough Easter candy to last me for the next three years. My family overdid it with the whole Robin Eggs and chocolate bunnies deal. Oh well, more fat for me! Woo woo.

Really random, but this just came to me. For those of you who don't know, it's ManCrush Monday! Now, I have loads of man crushes. Probably around 100, to be exact. It's kind of ridiculous, but I can't help myself. There are so many attractive men. And hey, who wants to just choose one? My pick for the day is relevant because I get to go back to seeing his dear face on Netflix everyday starting in seven days. Yes, I have lasted almost a month and a half without my beloved Gossip Girl and therefore, without the one and only Chuck Bass. No Ed Westwick is like the absolute worst sacrifice ever. Sorry to be on the tad dramatic side, but can you honestly tell me that he is not flawless?

See my point? Happy ManCrush Monday!

Set A Fire.

"Set a fire down in my soul
that I can't contain
and I can't control."

-United Pursuit Band.

As I spent the day yesterday wandering through every store in the mall looking for prom dresses, it occurred to me: I never had to do this for my prom. Really though, I had my prom dress waiting for me since freshman year of high school. Did I know that dress was going to be what I wore from the start? Gosh, no. But in the end, I'm so happy I picked that one because it looked pretty and no one else at the dance had it. Prom is like a teaser for what it's going to be like on your wedding day. No, your date will not be like your husband (or so I assume), but you feel like a princess and I know that prom was the most beautiful I have ever felt about myself. It's a magical evening filled with the best memories. I swear, my prom was absolutely perfect, even with the tiny imperfections along the way. But I know how stressful it can be for some people to get everything arranged for prom. So inspired by a girls' trip to a giant shopping center yesterday, I'm going to show you some of my favorite choices for prom dresses this year. Maybe this guide can help a few of you in your hunt for the perfect dress.

BCBGMaxAzria Maxine Evening Gown in Royal Blue
-I'm not a huge fan of cutouts on prom dresses. But I feel as if this season, it is one of the hottest trends. (So is high-low, but I definitely do not like that for what should be a formal event in my eyes.) This blue is absolutely stunning because even though it is deeper for a spring look, it still wows with how rich it looks. Plus the lace back on this dress is to die for.

Alice+Olivia Aria Diagonal Ruffle Tiered Gown
-When I first saw this gown, I wasn't too impressed. But I thought, might as well check it out. What an unexpected surprise. The simplicity in the ruffles of this nude gown bring out the softness that this dress is trying to portray. I also have a love for low backs, and this one takes the cake. Gorgeously exposing of the spine and I adore it so.

Cache Deco Beaded Blouson Gown
-You can't tell in the picture, but the mint color on this dress is stunning. Mint is one of my new favorite colors ever since it became huge over the past year. Mint is always fashion forward in my book and the blouson of this dress adds a vintage flapper flare to me. This dress seems easy and pretty for a spring affair.

Max and Cleo Strapless Chiffon Gown in Custard
-This is a more affordable pick compared to the others. Under $200, this dress screams spring time. Yellow attracts me like no other color, so when I saw this gown, I had to look at it. I love the sweetheart neckline with the crisscross of chiffon. It gives great detail to a delicate, soft dress such as this one.

Catherine Deane Lace-Sleeve Tulle Gown
-For those of you who want to be extra elegant and prefer darker colors, allow me to introduce you to this amazing black gown. The lace on this dress is divine (and the back is completely lace as well)! Plus, tulle is what makes up the skirt part, which is always a do in my mind. Delicate yet sexy, if you ask me.

Lisztomania.

"So sentimental.
Not sentimental, no.
Romantic, not disgusting yet.
Darling, I'm down and lonely."

-Phoenix.

Gonzaga lost. More like, Gonzaga ruined my bracket. More like, Gonzaga ruined my life. UGH. So not happy with March Madness.

On a better note, Kids Choice Awards were tonight. Let's breakdown the best looks!

Best Dressed

This metallic peplum mini looks so fresh on Bella Thorne. Pink pumps add a pop to this forward number.

Could Sophia Grace and Rosie get any cuter?! Literally, these blue and white pinstripe dresses are the end all in my book.

Khloe Kardashian Odom proves that curves are beautiful in this stunning white mini. Plus the ombre tips add a flare of summer to her vibe. GORGEOUS.

Ciara Bravo reminds me of a young '60s housewife chic. And I mean that in the best way possible. This yellow floral dress is beyond adorable and age-appropriate. And those tall shoes? Perfect touch.

Valerie.

"Since I've come on home,
well, my body's been a mess.
And I miss your ginger hair
and the way you like to dress."

-Amy Winehouse.

I literally have no life because of March Madness. Either I've been in class, at a lecture or glued to my computer, trying to keep up with every game for my bracket. With this basically consuming my life, I'm going to switch it up. I'm going to do something I'd like to call a Friday Five. Here are my top five favorite outfits that either I saw this week on Pinterest or style worn by celebrities. If you guys like it, maybe I'll make this a regular thing. Sounds fun to me  and as we all know, TGIF.

I am SO obsessed with this bright yellow Alice + Olivia dress. Literally, I cannot take my eyes off of all the beady and cutesy details. So spring-y and I adore it so!

As seen in the background, Kiernan is at the premiere of Mad Men Season 6. I will admit it took me a while, but I am officially hooked on Mad Men. This Valentino dress is classic and chic all in one. She is such a little fashionista, I can't even handle it.

See how much I love yellow? Selena Gomez always looks so pretty and this butter colored number is just gorgeous. Some may hate the shoes, but I think the way they tie is just another intricate detail.

So hippie chic. I love this look for festivals. Nothing says modern bohemian like a flowy skirt and gold chained necklaces.

Literally, could she be more flawless? I am beyond jealous of Miranda Kerr's looks and style. She always gets it right, even in this easy white ensemble. That skirt is definitely to die for.

Pompeii.

"We were caught up and lost
in all of our vices.
In your pose, as the dust
settles around us."

-Bastille.

March Madness is upon us, people. And when you go to university, it takes over pretty much all news anyone wants to talk about. Even more so when your own university is in the Big Dance. Sadly, tonight was our round to win and it did not go as planned...

Yeah, that happened. Although our viewing party was a complete success (can you say
spaghetti and meatballs takeout?), the game was rather a fail. For being a competitive person,
I was pretty upset with the play. Our team was not on their A-game whatsoever. But the even
bigger upset? HARVARD BEAT NEW MEXICO. Like what. There goes my bracket.
I'm completely screwed on that section, that's for sure. Rest aside though, I will prevail a
winner of that Starbucks gift card. I swear by it.

Even though the results weren't what we wanted, I'm still in it to win it. I'm really liking all this
basketball stuff. Yes, I played sports growing up, but hey, March Madness is the bomb.

Oxford Comma.

"All your diction,
 dripping with disdain.
Through the pain
I always tell the truth."

-Vampire Weekend.

As I was reviewing media articles this morning, this tune automatically entered my mind. And it's so contagious, I can't help but want to sing the words loudly. (Even if there are some vulgar words in the lyrics.)

Moving on, today has been better. Not the best, but I'm getting there. I'm trying.

For those who are clueless, I love One Direction. So when this dude, Mark Parsons, created a cartoon about them, I was dying from laughter. He recently came out with a new episode. So of course, I was rolling on the floor again.

Pardon my lame sense of humor, but these videos just get to me every time. Maybe it's because I am a true Directioner, but I just can't even...when it comes to these videos.

If you don't laugh, I don't care. I still think it's so great. And today, it made my life.

Part Two:

Part One (for those of you who haven't seen/heard about this):

My House.

"So what else could you ask for?
You don't even need a passport.
To see the whole world
from our living room."

-Kacey Musgraves.

So much great music came out today, I can't even handle it. If you haven't bought: a) 20/20 Experience, b) Same Trailer, Different Park or c) Two Lanes of Freedom, then you're way behind. Literally, some of the best stuff I've heard in a long while.

Despite my high stress levels and lack of time for this week, I managed to get up at a reasonable time and get completely dressed. By this, I mean I actually did a carbon copy of an outfit off of Pinterest and I must say I'm quite happy with the result. My outfit of the day consisted of: white cableknit Ralph Lauren sweater, faded and ripped Banana Republic straight leg jeans cuffed, nude patent Urban Outfitters flats and a coral striped scarf from Target. Plus, I got my bangs to be straight across. Finally!

Okay, so carbon copy isn't exactly the phrase. But here were my inspirations for the day:

And, yes, I always consult Pinterest before any outfit decision. Lifechanger, I tell ya.

Tyrant.

"And it feels so real
from the outside looking in.
And it feels so real
from the outside.
From the out."

-OneRepublic.

This Monday has been the definition of a Monday. Woke up at 7a.m. to bloodshot eyes and quiet footsteps. Little did I know that the thunderstorms for the day would turn into a tornado warning, downpour rain and lightning shooting its way across the sky. This all happened in a matter of about two hours. And I was the victim of the sad, pathetic, soaking-wet-from-not-having-a-coat storm. Isn't life grand?

On top of that, I have three major assignments due by 1p.m. Friday afternoon and a major quiz coming up. My life just screams fun and excitement.

Thankfully, there were some bright spots in this rather cloudy day. My advising meeting excelled high above my expectations. Apparently, I'm way beyond track to graduate and taking a minor looks like the smartest decision ever. Heck, my major is only worth 30 credits now instead of 48. Praise the Lord. Also, I got an A- on my first media assignment. And according to my teacher, that NEVER happens. It's a once in a blue moon moment. Once again, PRAISE THE LORD.

As much stress as I am being demolished by, I am realizing I'm not scared of not having the capability to complete this week. I'm the little engine that could. (Wow, I'm lame. I can't believe I just said that...) I'm more concerned over the fact that stress goes against my lifestyle. I'm all for good vibes and laughter all around. Guess I gotta just sit back and see how this week rolls out. Hope it's in your favor as well.

CHERISH THE JOURNEY.

For those who don't believe me over being swallowed up by the storm, here you go:
