Who's That Boy.

"Give me the green light.
Kiss my lips.
Who's that boy
watching my hips."

-Demi Lovato & Dev.

Another day, another later. It really all hasn't hit me yet. I don't know if it actually will. I just have a different perspective on this whole going away thing. It never gets easier to know I won't see these faces for four months, but I know that we shall see each other sooner than later.
Physical activity is not exactly my favorite thing. (Sports are an exception, though.) Hiking all the way up the Peak was quite a daunting task. Nevertheless, doing it with people you love (and who are hilarious, by the way) is so much of a release. I'm so grateful I was able to see the beautiful views and look around at God's creations from the tip-top of a random little mountain. It's quite something when you can take a breath in and know that all of what surrounds you is your moment to live in. What a crazy epiphany if you think...and not well-worded. But who cares?

Big love to my littles who are still braving the tide of high school. It may seem tedious without a cause, but the nostalgic adult in me knows that those four years make or break you. And where we live, it may not be much, but we have such a blessed life. We have such a great community and high school is so short that you have to cling to those in your atmosphere. So keep your head up, I love you three more than most.

You make my world a lot brighter.

Love Like Crazy.

"Be a best friend.
Tell the truth.
And overuse 'I love you'."

-Lee Brice.

Today began my list of goodbyes. Well, not goodbyes. More like see you laters. It just so happened to start with my best guy friend in the world. I cannot shut up about Matt and how much his friendship means to me. He is truly the brother I have always wanted and I couldn't ask for anything more. He makes me laugh harder than anything and never ceases to amaze me in his raw talents. Matt just has that 'it' factor. He's a genius to me and I am always stoked to see what the future holds for him.

Matt and I grew up together. Just two little kids who loved to joke around and never take life too seriously. What a great way to get to know a guy, right? And even though we've matured (maybe), we still act like we're 6-year-olds. Best times ever.

Today as we discussed possibly creating a reality show about "prostidudes" and improvised a fake disco dance to The Hustle, I knew that this kid would always be my friend. I need someone like him in my life to make me smile and have around to make fun of. It's just the coolest thing to be pals with a guy like him.

I'm gonna miss you these next four months, bud. But just know your star shines bright and I can't wait to see what's new when December rolls around. Until then, dance like everyone is watching and make the world your stage. You rock.

Patient Love.

"And the three words
on the tip of my tongue
not to be spoken nor sung
or whispered to anyone."

-Passenger.

So You Think You Can Dance brings me to so many cool songs. I already knew of the acoustic folk genius that Passenger holds, but this brings it to a whole other level. I'm excited to explore the depths of his other British tunes while getting wrapped up in the hipster side of myself. Hope you love my newfound discovery as much as I do.

And remember...keep on dancing.

Bleeding Love.

"And it's draining all of me.
Oh, they find it hard to believe.
I'll be wearing these scars
for everyone to see."

-Leona Lewis.

As said in some previous post from days ago, Tahoe was fantastic. Our annual roadtrip to the great mountains of Nevada seems to bring out the best of fun. Maybe, one day, I'll go back in winter, but summer is always the best time to breathe in the (lack of) fresh air. Picture perfect scenery also included.

All eight-hour drives consist of alternative rock music and wide open fields at some point.

Drifting along the river.

A castle by the lake shore? Yes, please.

Let's just say I've lost my bikini body...but this boulder is sick.

Can this be my view every day?

Emerald Bay...more like nature's beauty.

I'm not one to think about this, but I would totally get married in this church.

Road trip views are gold.

Keep Your Eyes Open.

"Cause if you never leave home,
never let go,
you'll never make it
to the great unknown."

-Needtobreathe.

Sorry, be right back. Crying of confusion over this new Parachute stuff. I just don't even know how to handle this...progression of music this album has taken on. I miss The Way It Was.

Hmm, anyways. We have finally begun the final countdown of my last days in the endless California summer. Man, what a bittersweet feeling. It's weird to think I was saying my goodbyes this time last year and that so much has changed since then. I honestly could not tell you one emotion I have over this because I don't really know what to say. It is what it is, how about that?

As we head into the single digit day mark, I think I'll just focus on the present. On the now. Sure, the past is great and the future is coming full speed, but that's not in my hands. Living right here is what I want to do. Forget the fact I have 9 days left in this beautiful place. I need to live no day like today. Tennessee and Belmont can wait a little while longer.

So for this next last full week in my small hometown, I'm excited for the movie nights. I'm stoked for the beach days. I'm ready for the baking sessions. I'm dreading the packing and sending my clothes away. (Heaven forbid I have an empty armoir to pick an ensemble from.) I'm happy to have endless little talks with my family and the people who have been chosen into my family. I want to capture these things to the best of my ability. Here's to the Sunday of summer.

August, you got nothin' on me.

Started From The Bottom.

"We just want credit
where it's due.
I'ma worry 'bout me,
give an eff about you."

-Drake.

Time flies when you're having fun. That was definitely the statement last night in which I didn't get home til a little after 2am. That's what summer's all about, right? With the lack of my Friday Five post, why don't we just make it a Saturday Six? I think that sounds just as rad.

I've been really into baggy, boyfriend looks lately. Oversized button-ups and baggy jeans. Graphic tees and Converse sneakers. Falling back into my tomboy ways, I am always a sucker for a snapback and men's shirts. Let's jump on it.

Overalls, overalls, overalls. This cliche repairman staple has lately become my new addiction. This faded one-piece looks easy and cool with a cropped muscle tee and some Tiva-like sandals. Down on the farm...

Boyfriend jeans are always a do. They are comfy casual at its finest. The button-up compliments the masculine look while the intricate sandals add a twist of girly to this look.

Gimme that striped blazer and I would be happy for life. This ensemble screams all-American tomboy. Too cool.

Baseball shirt meets pencil skirt? To me, this is the best tomboy high fashion look. The tied-on sweatshirt adds to how sick this look is.

Cara is my queen. Looking downright killer in this oversized tank with cutoffs and messed-up booties. Oh yeah, and beanies for life.

Fall is on its way which means flannels will soon follow. Miley is rocking it hard in a classic grunge ensemble, sheer tights and all.

Take On Me.

"Talking away.
I don't know what I'm to say,
I'll say it anyway."

-a-ha.

Guess who's back...back again? KB's back. Tell a friend.

Okay, that was a pretty lame start, but hey, I've been in a car for ten hours. Cut me some slack. If you've ever been on a Brickey vacation, you know not everything goes smooth. Example: we ran into a giant piece of sheet metal because of a big rig and we went almost two hours purely on battery power. Needless to say, there were anxious tears shed and the sick feeling in my stomach is still churning up bad feelings. All I can say is, we are alive and well and I am in the comfort of my extra deep bed.

Also, it's August. LIKE WHAT. Since when did we get here? August is like...the Sunday of summer. Lots of good stuff is coming up soon (i.e. One Direction concert, roadtrip to Nash, school starting, etc.), but where did my endless summer disappear to? I swear, this season has gone faster than in previous years and that makes me quite upset. I want to live in record high temperatures and my vintage two-piece forever. Guess life doesn't always go as wished. Ah, a girl can dream, right?

I'll post the pictures of our grand Nevada adventure in the next coming days, but right now, I'm going to just chill. I want to waste my life away watching Skins and House Hunters for hours on end. I'm going to keep planning my future trip to Manhattan with my best friend. I have to start packing all my clothes into the boxes that will become my new sophomore apartment. Like I mentioned, lots of stuff and too little time.

Summer, I still miss you, babe and I don't want to miss a thing.
