Guys, CMA Week is finally here. And no one does CMA Week bigger than Nashville. I mean, is that really so unexpected to say? (If you answered yes, just leave.)

Of course, to kick it off with a bang, Hunter Hayes surprised the city with a free outdoor concert in front of one of the biggest venues in town and shut down the main street of the city. How cool is that?! What a beautiful night for such a beautiful show.

Hunter brought some friends along, as well. Anyone from Kellie Pickler to Dan + Shay to even Eric Paslay made surprise appearances throughout the show and Hunter played his hits.

But I wasn't just celebrating the beginning to this incredible week. I was celebrating for a whole other reason.

I won a CMA Award. And I'm 100 percent serious when I say that.

Ta-da! I've been holding back this secret for months and it has been eating me alive because I cannot keep quiet for the life of me. This award is such an amazing honor and I'm still in complete shock that I won this Award of Merit from CMA Close Up. Wow. I honestly don't even know what to say because never did I ever expect something big like this.

So of course, how do I go wild for winning? Dancing with some of my closest friends and lighting up the night with the music that keeps me grounded. God bless CMA Week and country music.

If you are looking for an anthem with a sick beat and beyond clever/sarcastic lyrics, look no further. This jam will PUMP YOU UP.

Being my favorite off the 1989 record, Taylor just defines what cool sounds like in this hit. Like, there are just so many one-liners in this four-minute song than I know what to do with. As you can obviously tell, the one above is my favorite but don't get me wrong: that was competing with probably five others. 

Since, once again, Taylor's team knows how to take all of her music away unless it's bought (Spotify...come on!), I will leave you here with this video explaining how this song was born.

This song just happens to be ever so fitting with our Want Wednesday theme. Even more so when I'll turn the Taylor Takeover up a notch and use her as our inspiration for the day.

Can you get more autumn than this? I mean, all bases are covered from the schoolgirl plaid skirt to the knee-high plum stockings. Of course, in honor of National Cat Day (FYI, I actually don't like cats at all), her greatest accessories just so happen to be a green handbag with her detective kitten. To think, this is her casual look. And she still kills the game in this classy getup.

The continuum of Taylor week goes on with this bonus track that seems to be growing on me in great proportions. I feel like many of her songs on this album incorporate a piano that sounds just like a music box with a ballerina in the center spinning. Crazy idea, but it just reminds me of tutus and innocence. Nevertheless, this Tune for Tuesday brings all the elements of the perfect Alice-meets-romance mix-up. 

Plus, let's get real: we all know who this song is about. (Ahem, green eyes and Cheshire? Don't tell me I'm reading too much into it. It's obvious for those of us who are devoted to you-know-who.)

If you haven't heard, Taylor Swift pretty much owns this day. Actually, she has this whole week on her lockdown, to be honest. In honor of her "Tay-lurking" and the fact that I'm at the point of #RIPme (look up her Graham Norton interview), I'm going to honor her with lyrics from 1989.

While this one is rumored to be about my girl, Katy Perry, it brings out the tucked-away cheerleader drama within me. Chants and mean girls and insults, oh my!

I would post it on here, but Taylor's team is pro status at pulling down uncopyrighted videos of her songs on Youtube. So...go buy the album?

For the past few months, I've been on such a female empowerment kick. From listening to strong songs sung by the best women out there to watching college speech contests about sexism, I feel like the take-two revolution of feminism is coming into play. Living in Nashville, it's easy to take notice of the country music industry and how men are typically the big players in this town.

But not anymore.

Maddie & Tae may look their teenage selves, but they are well wise beyond their years. And they see the need for a revolution now more than ever. Their first-ever single, "Girl in a Country Song," came out swinging at all the bro country going around by telling them guys to shut their trap and appreciate women for more than things in cutoff shorts. By no mean are they hating the whole denim-cowboy boot-blonde complex of country, but it's nice to have a fresh perspective on the whole scheme of things.

I had the wonderful pleasure of talking to them for a bit and observing their bubbliness on the sidelines. For girls who are around the same age I am, it looks as if their future is bright and they have no intention on stopping their stomping on these grounds. They got it together and even more so, they've just got it.
