Blank Space.

"Cause darling, I'm a nightmare
dressed like a daydream."

-Taylor Swift.

If you are looking for an anthem with a sick beat and beyond clever/sarcastic lyrics, look no further. This jam will PUMP YOU UP.

Being my favorite off the 1989 record, Taylor just defines what cool sounds like in this hit. Like, there are just so many one-liners in this four-minute song than I know what to do with. As you can obviously tell, the one above is my favorite but don't get me wrong: that was competing with probably five others.

Since, once again, Taylor's team knows how to take all of her music away unless it's bought (Spotify...come on!), I will leave you here with this video explaining how this song was born.

You're welcome.

Style.

"You got that James Dean, daydream
look in your eyes.
And I got that red lip, classic
thing that you like."

-Taylor Swift.

This song just happens to be ever so fitting with our Want Wednesday theme. Even more so when I'll turn the Taylor Takeover up a notch and use her as our inspiration for the day.

Can you get more autumn than this? I mean, all bases are covered from the schoolgirl plaid skirt to the knee-high plum stockings. Of course, in honor of National Cat Day (FYI, I actually don't like cats at all), her greatest accessories just so happen to be a green handbag with her detective kitten. To think, this is her casual look. And she still kills the game in this classy getup.

Wonderland.

"And in the end,
in Wonderland,
we both went mad."

-Taylor Swift.

The continuum of Taylor week goes on with this bonus track that seems to be growing on me in great proportions. I feel like many of her songs on this album incorporate a piano that sounds just like a music box with a ballerina in the center spinning. Crazy idea, but it just reminds me of tutus and innocence. Nevertheless, this Tune for Tuesday brings all the elements of the perfect Alice-meets-romance mix-up.

Plus, let's get real: we all know who this song is about. (Ahem, green eyes and Cheshire? Don't tell me I'm reading too much into it. It's obvious for those of us who are devoted to you-know-who.)

P.S. Sorry for the auto-tune of this track. It's the only YouTube link that works and sounds remotely close to the original. Like I said, Big Machine has some amazing people working for them to take down the copyrights.

Bad Blood.

"Band-aids don't fix bullet holes."

-Taylor Swift.

If you haven't heard, Taylor Swift pretty much owns this day. Actually, she has this whole week on her lockdown, to be honest. In honor of her "Tay-lurking" and the fact that I'm at the point of #RIPme (look up her Graham Norton interview), I'm going to honor her with lyrics from 1989.

While this one is rumored to be about my girl, Katy Perry, it brings out the tucked-away cheerleader drama within me. Chants and mean girls and insults, oh my!

I would post it on here, but Taylor's team is pro status at pulling down uncopyrighted videos of her songs on Youtube. So...go buy the album?

P.S. If you do, I'll be using a new song every day so you'll know what's going on. Well, somewhat. Plus, this album is straight up awesome. Bringing back the middle-school-sleepover-dramatics in all the right ways.

Platinum.

"What doesn't kill you
only makes you blonder."

-Miranda Lambert.

Just because sometimes a new song comes into your life for all the right reasons and turns into your theme song for everything.

Girl In A Country Song.

"Aw, y'all.
We ain't a cliche.
That ain't no way
to treat a lady."

-Maddie & Tae.

For the past few months, I've been on such a female empowerment kick. From listening to strong songs sung by the best women out there to watching college speech contests about sexism, I feel like the take-two revolution of feminism is coming into play. Living in Nashville, it's easy to take notice of the country music industry and how men are typically the big players in this town.

But not anymore.

Maddie & Tae may look their teenage selves, but they are well wise beyond their years. And they see the need for a revolution now more than ever. Their first-ever single, "Girl in a Country Song," came out swinging at all the bro country going around by telling them guys to shut their trap and appreciate women for more than things in cutoff shorts. By no mean are they hating the whole denim-cowboy boot-blonde complex of country, but it's nice to have a fresh perspective on the whole scheme of things.

I had the wonderful pleasure of talking to them for a bit and observing their bubbliness on the sidelines. For girls who are around the same age I am, it looks as if their future is bright and they have no intention on stopping their stomping on these grounds. They got it together and even more so, they've just got it.

Whyyawannabringmedown.

"Is it too much to give a damn
when I'm giving you one-hundred and ten."

-Kelly Clarkson.

I don't know whether to start off apologizing for the lack of a Tune Tuesday or turn this whole situation into a Throwback Thursday moment. Nonetheless, I'm in a bit of a squeeze at the moment with my homework and I'm just going to combine the two. (Procrastination is great, but also the devil at times.)

Kelly Clarkson will always be my go-to girl power hero. She was my first concert and she remains to be the artist to some of my absolute favorite songs. For example, I totally forgot about this jam-and-a-half until I needed something to bob my head to while I write this movie review. Boy, did it not disappoint in the slightest!

Trust me. If you ever need to scream out your feelings, Kelly has a song for that. If you want a sweet and soulful love song, Kelly's got your back. If you need a catchy pop hit that gets under your skin and into your veins, well, Kelly is there.

Long live Kelly Clarkson and her amazing versatility in music.

Blame.

"So blame it on the night.
Don't blame it on me."

-Calvin Harris & John Newman.

We lost a fashion leader this week. And I could not be grieving this loss more, even though I obviously never got to know the man.

But by God, he will forever go down in the books as a legend of the Red Carpet. Styling the biggest stars from SJP to T-Swift, he had a way with elegance and charm in the most classic and modern take. He knew how to mix lace with florals and pretty with classy. The most important of all? He understood how to make women feel like the most beautiful versions of themselves...without any crazy schemes or insane patterns.

RIP Mr. Oscar de la Renta. You will surely be missed.

All About That Bass.

"Yeah, it's pretty clear.
I ain't no size two.
But I can shake it, shake it
like I'm supposed to do."

-Meghan Trainor.

While today was a great day and all, nothing really significant came of it. But that's okay. Because Marcel is back, people, and I could not be more ecstatic than I am right now writing this sentence about it. (!!!!!!!!)

Everything is Possible.

"You and me are going to take on the night.
You and me are going to burn out the lights."

-Jonathan Jackson.

Learning that life is all about spontaneity is a hard lesson to grasp. I'm not one for surprises and I definitely love a well-planned adventure. But this weekend, I just let it all go and lived the YOLO lifestyle. (Yes, I still say YOLO, so get over it.)

Friday night around half past 11 p.m., I found myself with three friends in the middle of Kentucky screaming out One Direction songs at the top of our lungs as we stuffed our faces with the Sonic likings of grilled chicken sandwiches and Oreo Blasts. Saturday night, I pretended to be famous with my roommate and mingled among the silver screen stars of ABC's Nashville. Today, I skipped an afternoon nap to bask in the glory of autumn sunshine of Music City and see Steve Moakler play a free show in the park.

After the show, Tori and I ventured to our coffee home of Fido to grab some Football Seasons and Local Lattes. Who knew a random jaunt to our favorite spot would land us in the middle of a deep life talk?

We talked about how good we had it in the glory days of high school and how much we're both obsessed with our hometowns. (Give it up for West Coast living!) But we also reveled in awe over how amazing college has been, especially in the past two months. We have gotten some of the best concert tickets imaginable. We have roadtripped near and far with laughs taking up the mileage time. We have succeeded in our passions--journalism and social work, respectively--and realized that between classwork and tests lies so much more that we won't be able to find in the real world.

Maybe, just maybe, I'm coming to terms with the fact that life is made by extraordinary moments and extraordinary can be defined by an infinite amount of ideas. Whether it be indulging in a cafe's perfectly-baked cookies or driving five hours to see your favorite band, we've got it SO good.

And that's all I want from my life. Goodness and happiness. Oh, and add a dash or two of laughter along the way.

Out of the Woods.

"And when the sun came up,
you were looking at me...
I remember.
Oh, I remember."

-Taylor Swift.

I don't care that this song is about Harry Styles. (Don't deny it, we all know it is.)

I don't care that the first time I heard this song I hated it.

I don't care that the lyrics don't have a hook or a cool metaphor.

I don't care that she's gone totally pop.

I don't care that I used to really dislike her whole persona.

THIS SONG IS SO GOOD AND CATCHY AND I DON'T CARE IF PEOPLE HATE ME FOR LOVING IT.

I'm Not The Only One.

"You say I'm crazy,
cause you don't think I know
what you've done."

-Sam Smith.

Once you start, you can never stop.

When it comes to Sam Smith songs, that statement is 110% true. He's not the typical pop star-catchy beat kind of guy. He has soulful lyrics and a voice like an angel to boot. But it's his simplicity that gets him so far in the industry at the moment.

Praise Sam Smith for this refreshing take on music apart from the drowned-out sounds of synthesized madness mistaken for an actual song.

Yes, I love pop music. Don't get me wrong. But every once in a while, it's nice to take a break from the norm and drown out a dancey hit with a Top 40 Tune worthy of loving.

Six Feet Under the Stars.

"We can kick it here for hours
and just mouth off about the world
and how it's going to hell."

-All Time Low.

God bless pop punk in all of its glory.

While we're on the topic of blessings (or something of the sort), today has been one and a half. So much good stuff is on the rise and the fact that it's fall break makes me the happiest of people. Although I wish I could gush on and on about this so-called good news, I don't want to jinx it.

Actually, I'm obligated to keep it quiet until it actually happens. But it's all good, nonetheless. And what better way to celebrate happiness with some angsty lyrics and hardcore, no vibrato singers?

That's right.

Happy Friday, everyone.

Salute.

"You think we're just pretty things.
You couldn't be more wrong."

-Little Mix.

As much as I complain about the cool, crisp air of autumn, I could not be more excited to wear boyfriend jeans and heeled booties and oversized crop tops. Love me some cutoffs, but the time has come to put away the bikinis and trade them in for motorcycle jackets and leather pants.

Although that last intro may have made me sound a tad obsessed with grunge and tomboy looks, I also have a fondness for feminine menswear. You know, stuff you could wear to the office but still chic nonetheless. I'm also all about monochromatics and simple shade palettes for this fall. I've come to realize how far a black and white ensemble can take you. And here is just one example for this Want Wednesday:

Wish I could tell you that I'm over the whole Amish-style hats and cropped pieces, but they will remain a love and staple that I dream to add to my wardrobe in the near future. Plus, nothing will ever beat a loose trouser in my book, especially when pleated.

Anthem Part Two.

"Young and hostile,
but not stupid."

-Blink 182.

I feel like every weekend of this semester, I go into Monday thinking that there was no weekend to even begin with. I guess that's nice to know time is moving crazy fast this year, but I also feel as if I'm maybe missing out on more of life. I can never be too sure about which assumption is the actual truth. It's a day by day progression, rollercoastering its way in the corners of my mind. But maybe I need to revert back to the days where the little things outweighed some huge event I may not be going to. For example, I just spent three hours in a coffee shop eating pumpkin cheesecake as my roommate, her best friend and I scrolled through Twitter to keep up with the last show of the One Direction WWA Tour. Yes, that sound eternally lame, but we had a blast despite the haters.

Even though time's been flying and weekends seem nonexistent, I'm fully for this life. The twenties are off to a good start, but who says we really need to grow up and move on that fast?

Not me.

Me and the birfday girl, who I adore and look up to oh so much.

K. N. K.

Forever lawling at Preview Day Shenanigans. Especially when it's 50 degrees and we're stalling between tours. Good life.

Steal My Girl.

"We want the same things,
we dream the same dreams,
alright."

-One Direction.

Post-concert depression is such a real thing, guys. Especially after seeing the boys from across the pond. Second time was a charm for the WWA tour stop in Atlanta. It didn't hurt that our tickets also happened to be VIP Floor seats for free under the guest list of their manager's name. Connections make life a whole lot cooler.

Story of my life, right?

So close...

Inside jokes about the local coffee shop are the best.

Our boys. Killin' it.

Harry, you light up my world like nobody else. (How cheesy can I get, eh?)

K. K. T. A.

LOL-worthy for a plethora of reasons. Side note: that mosquito has a cute face, right?

It's yo boi, Nialler.

Creepin' as usual.

What you do when you're in standstill traffic in the middle of Nowheresville, Tennessee. (Besides my indecent peeing-on-the-shoulder-of-the-freeway act.)

Don't forget where you belong. HOME.

70,000+ people singing the same song for 70,000+ different reasons.

Look at how pretty they are.

VIP tickets >>>>>> school and internships.

Also, this happened...and I almost cried of joy.
